The reader is advised to seek legal counsel immediately if arrested for a DUI or other offense. This information is of a general nature intended for readers 21 years of age or older (DUI laws differ for those under 21), and based on California Law. Since the DUI laws change faster than I can change this website, it is critical that you consult with an attorney immediately to preserve your rights and chances of obtaining the best possible outcome on your particular case. You think I am kidding. No joke, the Vehicle Code was basically rewritten in a series of changes in the law that went into effect January 1999, June 1999, and January 2000, now again the legislature is drastically changing the DUI laws as we have had new laws effective January 2005, September 20, 2005 and January 2006. | ||||||||||
